A GRANDAD suffering from terminal cancer has raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
Caring Robert Pearson (left) asked friends and family attending his 80th birthday party to donate to Cancer Research UK instead of giving him presents.
The Dalton man had been diagnosed with prostate cancer months earlier, but when his milestone birthday approached the dedicated fundraiser's first thought was to help others.
Replica Givenchy More than 100 people from all over the country packed into Turnbridge Working Men's Club at Aspley for the event.
The evening raised pounds 500 for the leading charity, which is dedicated to beating cancer through research.
jaeger lecoultre watches Mr Pearson's daughter Elaine Lickess said: "The event went very well and a lot of people came and supported dad.
"Charities mean a lot to him and he was absolutely over the moon with the amount that was raised and the kind expressions people showed."
Mr Pearson was a dedicated member of The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes social club, helping raise thousands of pounds over more than 30 Chanel Shoes years.
A prize raffle has also been organised to raise money for Crossroads carers who are helping look after him.
Tickets will be sold at the White Horse pub on Leeds Road throughout August with the draw taking place at the end of the month.
